Up to the drawing table
Before building a steely and stable website, the website first needed to be designed. As with all new websites the design phase starts at the digital drawing table and with the help of Photoshop. Before we could start converting the final designs from PSD to Wordpress, the design company first needed to align with the client what he had in mind and what he exactly expected from his website. After several feedback rounds and proper validation, the client was fully satisfied with the design. The designs were sent to us by the client and we could start the actual PSD to Wordpress process.
Let’s go building
As soon as we had received the PSD files, we could kick off the real work. The first step in every PSD to Wordpress conversion is the development of the HTML, CSS and some Javascript for the sliders. This phase was realized by a true PSD to HTML specialist in order to guarantee proper display of the website in all modern browsers. Because this particular website contained a rather large number of pages, it took our developer about 5 workdays to deliver the full package of HTML and CSS pages. Upon completing this project phase and upon thoroughly testing the end-result, we were ready for the next PSD to Wordpress process step, the Wordpress integration.
First HTML, then Wordpress
Integrating Wordpress in HTML actually means the HTML pages are converted to a Wordpress theme which can be easily activated in each Wordpress installation. Our Wordpress developer was going to create separate templates for each individual HTML page in order to apply the correct layout to each page and in order to ensure all page content (like images, texts and videos) could be easily adjusted without needing extended coding knowledge. Integrating Wordpress took our Wordpress developer about 8 days and the client was immediately happy with the result. Because human errors are unavoidable, when performing a final test round our client still found a few bugs which we nevertheless managed to resolve the same day.
