Many projects require a unique website which visualizes this project in a unique way to attract and charm potential users. The Duyn hove project is a project near the sea which offers various houses build in the nearby dunes. For such a project, combining the skills of an architect and a builder, a stunning website is a real requirement because the website leaves an unforgettable first impression on its visitors. The project core team consists of an architect, a property developer and a salesman… which combines all needed facets and skill in one project team. The interesting part of this project consists of the fact people will be delivered a brand new house which can be tuned to their own requirements and desires thanks to the wide range of options.
A unique design for a unique project
Because this is such a unique project which only rarely occurs, the actual design of the website took a long time. The wide range of different pages and the unique structure of each of the pages was a true challenge for the design company, a challenge they brought to a favorable conclusion though. We were delivered a single PSD which was neatly built with clear layer comps which allowed us to quickly switch between the different pages. Upon receiving the design we were ready for the first step in the PSD to Wordpress process, namely the development of the HTML, CSS and Javascript.
The first step: HTML
Creating an HTML and CSS which is properly displayed in all browsers, is a skill which requires the needed competence. Our multi-year experienced PSD to HTML developers master this skill and are continuously developing this skill with the newest innovations and techniques within this conversion area. To ensure a proper display of the website in all browsers the newest techniques were no real requirement to further develop the Duyn hove website. An HTML5 and CSS3 combination was clearly sufficient to ensure proper display and functionality of all elements and to be in line with the client’s requirements. Developing all the different pages took our developer about a week and a half and after a detailed review by the client we were ready for the next step.
The second step: CMS
The second step in the PSD to Wordpress process is the HTML to a fully-functional Wordpress theme conversion. This was no easy task because this project contained many pages which all had specific functionalities like sliders and download options. Fortunately our PSD to Wordpress developers have a multi-year experience and the website didn’t contain functionalities which they had never seen and converted before. After about two weeks of converting the developers finished this project phase.
Delivery
When completing a website project, we are always dependent on the client’s final review feedback. The Duyn hove website still contained a few bugs which our developer had accidentally overlooked. Fortunately he was able to resolve all of these bugs within a few hours, after which he installed the whole project on the client’s server. Our satisfied client could now start selling houses along the shore, accompanied by a website which was tuned to its target group and which could be easily managed and maintained thanks to Wordpress as its content management system.
