The latest techniques presented on an outdated website
When this company was founded several years ago, they appealed to a design bureau to design a beautiful website. In those days they had a very innovative and progressive website which contained design elements nowhere ever seen. Anno 2013 S E B online still used the same website to attract new customers and although the website once had been an exceptional piece of webdesign art, a makeover and refresh was a real need. Not only the website was outdated but also content-wise the website was running behind whereby customers were confronted with an old website while the company presented new webdesign and marketing techniques which were used on a daily basis. Therefore the company appealed to a professional webdesigner who thought along with the company and in the end designed a stunning and unique design which would for sure suit the company’s needs for many years to come.
A new responsive design
Because nowadays major part of the Internet users is using a tablet or smartphone with a specific resolution, developing a normal website with basic functionalities will no longer do. Websites are currently developed in various formats in order to properly use and display them on tablets and smartphones. Because S E B online is a very innovative company, creating a fully fluid responsive display was a real requirement and separate designs were created for the various breaking points. After the client’s design approval and our display approval (we of course need to be able to create the different displays), our developers could kick off the design to HTML and the HTML to a fully functional Wordpress theme conversion.
HTML5 with funny jQuery effects
The PSD to HTML conversion wasn’t as easy as usual. We did have to add various javascript/jQuery animations to somehow improve the website’s user-friendliness and to convince visitors to request a quote. Upon completing the different pages in HTML5 and CSS3, the pages amongst others contained an advanced slider with parallax effects, content which is uploaded by means of funny animations as soon as the website is scrolled and a portfolio presenting the most recent projects in a unique way.
Managing the content with Wordpress
Upon completing the design to responsive HTML5 and CSS3 conversion, the whole pack was converted to a Wordpress template allowing the client to easily add, adjust or remove content. This way the client never has to adjust coding and he can easily monitor and manage his website via the user-friendly Wordpress interface. Upon completing the conversion, our programmer did a final review after which we requested the client’s feedback. A few little feedback items were resolved and everything was installed for free on the client’s server making him a very satisfied client and allowing him to start filling his website.
