S F A Print’s website is an innovative and advanced website containing the latest technological novelties. This website is not only a so-called one design website, but it also disposes of various parallax effects improving the user’s navigation experience when scrolling the website and of an advanced portfolio section with an improved functionality. When we received the PSD files together with the project description it became clear this was not going to be a standard PSD to Wordpress project.
Stunning design
S F A Print describes its company as a ‘Full Service advertising and marketing bureau’, which to put it simple words, means they design their own house styles and create excelling advertisement campaigns. Logically they took the new website design into their own hands which satisfied our developers because they were provided with incredibly well-designed PSD files which resulted in a quicker project run time. Because they didn’t master the PSD to Wordpress process they appealed to our company. S F A Print set great store by the portfolio section which needed to have a fluent and clear functionality because from experience they learned potential clients often start with consulting this particular portfolio section. Besides, S F A Print was in favor of various parallax effects to cheer up their website. This resulted in a wide variety of stunning and funny parallax effects like a moving hair-drier on top of a flamingo which goes up when scrolling the website and a penguin which seems to jump out of the billboard when the billboard is hovered.
A Wordpress theme with advanced javascript
As soon as the project was kicked off our PSD to Wordpress developers started designing a clear structure because a full responsive website was expected. This means the website will get a different layout when being consulted by a tablet or a smartphone. Therefore a clear structure is needed to avoid certain obstacles and issues at a later stage. Upon completion of the clear structure our developers started the actual PSD to Wordpress process. The complete Wordpress conversion took a few days, whereby the portfolio part development required the most effort. The portfolio namely is no standard portfolio but a portfolio for which everything needs to be loaded on the same page and needs to be called up by means of jQuery and Ajax. Taking into account we also needed a few slider integrations our developers awaited a nice challenge because all this javascript might have the tendency to conflict once in a while.
Parallax effects as finishing touch
Upon completion of the PSD to Wordpress process our parallax specialist could kick off his process. Within a day he had completed his magic parallax tricks and we could admire the dynamic movements of the hair-drier, the penguin, the team members and various articles which all moved at a different speed than the rest of the page. As well our specialists as the S F A Print team do regret the fact parallax is not yet iPhone and iPad supported. Luckily enough it is supported by many other smartphones and tablets. Adding parallax effects to a website can make the difference for a marketing bureau website which needs to convince potential clients, after all a website is the bussiness card of your company.
Another successful PSD to Wordpress project
Upon completing the bug-testing phase we were able to install the whole website on the client’s server allowing him to take a final review look. Everything seemed to be ok and we had another satisfied client which was proud of his website. Besides, a happy client means a happy team of developers and specialist and another successful PSD to Wordpress project delivery.
